Témoignage : Hello everyone! My name is Matilde, and I participated in an Erasmus+ project. Being a part of it was one of the most meaningful and eye-opening experiences I've ever had. In March 2025, I had the opportunity to travel to Italy. We visited both Rome and Pomezia and I had the chance not only to explore two beautiful cities but also to learn, grow, and connect with people from different cultures. We collaborated with pupils from different European schools who are also part of the Erasmus+ project.
Before the trip, we participated in workshops, organised by “Hëllef Um Terrain”. These sessions helped us dive into the topic of fast fashion and exploring its impact on the environment, workers' rights and consumer habits. The workshops pushed us to think about how we, as young people, can make a difference and how fast fashion affects both people and the planet.
In Rome, we had the chance to explore the historical landmarks like the Colosseum, Vatican City, and many others. I was amazed by the city's history and architecture. I am grateful that I could learn about the culture.
In Pomezia, we engaged in workshops and activities. These sessions helped us develop new skills in communication, teamwork and cultural understanding. I especially enjoyed working with pupils from different countries.
To wrap up the project, my team collaborated with a local store called “Let’z Refashion”, which promotes sustainable fashion. Together, we created a mural that captured the key ideas and messages we explored during the workshops. Painting it as a team was a powerful experience, and it’s incredible to know that our artwork now hangs in the store, on public display, raising awareness about fast fashion and sustainability.
Overall, this trip was not just about traveling, it was about learning, exchanging ideas, and building friendships. It’s about showing the world that we can create better fashion so we can have a brighter future. I’m grateful for the opportunity as it gave me the chance to step out of my comfort zone and gain confidence.
