The project was addressed to pupils aged 7-10. Groups and whole classes could take part in it. The language of communication in this international project was English.
The objectives of the project were:
- establishing contact between pupils and teachers from different parts of the country and the world
- shaping openness, kindness, empathy and respect for others
- developing curiosity, bringing cultures closer, establishing contacts and cooperation, which in turn is to prevent intolerance, racism and xenophobia
- development of linguistic communication and interpersonal competences as well as teamwork skills.
Activités :
The following activities have been carried out:
- familiarise the other participants with the country, region and place of their origin
- show what the school and classroom look like
- presentation of how pupils spend their free time, what they like to play, what they are interested in, what they like to read, what films they watch
- presenting how the information mentioned can be shown in the form of artworks, photo reports, multimedia presentations or a film, depending on the abilities and skills of the group
- creation of materials
- uploading the materials on a TwinSpace, where participants are able to see them.
Produits :
Pupils and teachers participating in the project had the opportunity to get to know each other.
The project showed that we are different and at the same time similar, that each of us is valuable and everyone deserves respect and that we can meet and cooperate.
The activities during the project developed curiosity and desire to learn about other cultures and counteracted intolerance, racism and xenophobia.
The project encouraged pupils to learn foreign languages.
Impacts :
The pupils had the great opportunity to interact and socialise with pupils around Europe and share their experience of living and learning in different countries. They developed their cognitive skills by broadening their horizons and exchanging opinions, their linguistic skills by improving their writing and speaking skills in English and learning English in a more efficient and effective way.
Perspectives :
The pupils agreed on taking part in similar projects in the future as they really enjoyed this method of differentiating ways of learning a second language.
